EDIT: 5 months later... Love this instrument more and more! It's such a pleasure to play and to hear. Every person who has heard it has commented on how beautiful it sounds. And for myself, it's been a great experience as my skill grows. The neatest part is how new melodies just sprout forth and develop and grow themselves, seemingly using my hands on their own. Love playing this everyday!

Coolest thing I could have ever purchased!

After playing this for two evenings (just received it yesterday morning), I literally just said to myself "This is the f'ing coolest thing I could have ever purchased." I love it! It's truly beautiful, very well crafted, feels great to the touch, and sounds warm, pleasant, organic and 'real'. I can't believe the beautiful sounds and melodies I'm getting out of it, with only about 1-2 hours playing time so far.

I've played guitar for a long while, but still find I don't play as cleanly as I would like and cannot really jam/improv on it. I also like tapping out drum beats, but don't have any chance to play a real kit. So, this drum very well satisfies two main musical interests, and it does so beautifully. It's a great blend of percussion and melody. I am very excited to explore and grow musically!
